Marone is located in the heart of an interesting tourist area that includes Lake Iseo, the hills of Franciacorta, famous for their excellent wineries producing some of the world's finest wines, and the hinterland featuring Monte Guglielmo (1948 m) as the highest peak in the Sebino area, and a favorite destination for hikers in the region. Among the most visited destinations on Lake Iseo is undoubtedly Monte Isola, the largest lake island in Europe, completely pedestrian and rich in picturesque corners. Iseo to the south and Lovere to the north, proclaimed among the most beautiful villages in Italy since 2003, are some of the main places surrounding the lake, offering breathtaking views of the waters and surrounding mountains. Not to mention the Camonica Valley crossed by the Oglio River, the main tributary of Lake Iseo, a natural border between the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia, and the cycle path along this river, named the most beautiful cycle path in Italy, which can be traveled from Vello to Toline, starting right from Marone. Today, Marone is famous mainly for olive cultivation and the production of PDO olive oil, which has earned it the name "city of oil". Even in Marone, there are no shortages of testimonies from the past, from the 18th-century parish church to the sanctuary of Madonna della Rota, dating back to the 15th century, with important frescoes by Pietro da Marone, and not least for its beauty, the Church of San Pietro, located on a rocky spur in a panoramic position.

When we talk about pyramids, our minds typically go to Egypt, and we immediately think of the majestic monuments of the Pharaohs. Few people know that there are also pyramids in Lombardy: along the shores of Lake Iseo, in the direction of Val Camonica, there is a road sign indicating "Piramidi di Zone" (Pyramids of Zone). As you travel along the winding road towards the village, you suddenly see cones topped with boulders that look like hats. Faced with this unusual landscape, you can't help but wonder what strange magic allows these hats to remain suspended in the air, indifferent to the weather and winds, motionless and steadfast, almost defying time. From the parking lot in Cislano, a trail begins that leads to the base of the pyramids, and you embark on a walk immersed in greenery to observe this exciting spectacle. The pyramids were formed by water erosion on moraine soil, giving rise to this strange and surreal sight.
